A Southampton TikTok star has spoken about reaching a million followers and sharing her life on social media.

Sophiena Bunce, 33, lives in Southampton with her partner Chris Rider, 34, and their two children Colby, five, and Dottie, three.

She reached the milestone of one million subscribers on the social media platform TikTok.

It all started in January 2021, when the country was in lockdown, Sophiena downloaded the app on her phone and started watching videos online as @sophiena_official.

She felt so inspired by the videos she was watching that she started posting her own videos.

Sophiena and her partner Chris live in Southampton.

It was when she started posting sketches of actor Kevin Hart that she started getting thousands of views.

She said: “I love Kevin Hart and I could use his sketches and humor to show a bit of me without showing my whole self.

“I was able to show my personality without showing too much.

“Being a stay-at-home mom, I was filming the videos, I was putting the phone down to make the kids lunch and when I went back to my phone and saw the views explode, I thought there were more views than normal, and this cycle just repeats itself.

Sophiena admits there’s a scary element to watching subscriber numbers grow and the self-doubt that comes with it.

She said, “The times when the subscriber count started to go up was extremely scary and you were kind of doubting yourself, and I was really nervous because it affected a lot of people.

“However, it also feels good because when you see the views, the only reason people watch is because they really like it.

“It’s incredibly overwhelming, when you see the numbers going up, it’s like a really anxious butterfly in your belly.

“Even now, I’m in disbelief how the videos reach the people they reach and enjoy watching.”

For the Southampton mum, the aim of filming the videos is to help her viewers have a better day.

She said: “At the end of the day, I just hope someone finds comfort (or be) a little more patient with their kids because they watched a video, or someone is a little nicer with someone else in a store as a result of watching my videos.”
