Press release: – On Monday 23 August 2021, Russell’s Rooftop at Morne Doudon will unveil its online distribution platform: RoofTropixx Media.

From our studios, live and recorded audio and video programs and events will be broadcast to our target audience – our diaspora of Saint Lucia and the people of the island, with the aim of also capturing listeners and viewers around the world. .

Connection to the RoofTropixx Media platform is made via the Internet (for radio www.rooftropixx.com/r and for television www.rooftropixx.com/tv). Our content will be delivered through KBit Network, a UK-based international online media management company dedicated to the development of the online audio and video entertainment industries.

Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and other social media platforms will also be used, as well as traditional TV and radio stations that have expressed interest in collaborating with us.

RoofTropixx Media has established links with diaspora groups, associations, institutions, businesses and other local and foreign, with the aim of regularly presenting the events in their overseas communities as well as what is happening in St. LUCIA. The intention is to also work with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of Diaspora Affairs and the Saint Lucia Diplomatic Corps to strengthen ties between our peoples at home and abroad.

The broadcast team includes an exciting mix of seasoned veterans and newbies, all working to deliver this one-of-a-kind product.

Our audio and video programming will include Kweyol, educational, transportation, religious shows; dee jays, news, sports, obituaries, fan club, live jazz, tourist show and lots of live entertainment from Saint Lucia and other parts of the world.

The footage will also be edited and rebroadcast as video reruns and podcasts.

The seamless design of RoofTropixx Media Studios fits perfectly with the open, rustic theme of Russell’s Rooftop – a mix that will work perfectly for audience participatory events.

Additionally, proximity to the main bar, kitchen, and lounge allows guests to be served while watching live broadcasts and following COVID protocols. Our cameras will permanently capture the high visibility areas of the installation, decorated with “made in St Lucia” products and other accessories and shown to the world.

The interior / exterior design of the facility with breathtaking views over the town of Castries, the island’s north coast and the view of Martinique on a clear day completes the appeal of RoofTropixx Media on Russell’s rooftop. as a must visit when visiting Saint Lucia.

The first iteration of RoofTropixx Media’s live programming will be four weeks in length, scheduled from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Monday to Friday) and from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. (Saturday). The schedule for the first month is as follows:

Monday to Friday

6 am – 8 am… ‘Kweyol La Force’ with cultural activist Mr Hilary La Force

8am – 10am… ‘The Missing Link’ with radio / tv presenter Russell Lake

10 a.m. – 11 a.m.… ‘Tip n Run’ with Hilary La Force and Russell Lake

11 a.m. – 12 p.m.… Musical interlude

Saturdays from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., deejays and phone calls from people at home and abroad will be presented.

The second iteration of the live lineup on RoofTropixx Media will add the 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. slot (for four weeks) that will feature diaspora DJs playing from outside St. Lucia. The third and final iteration will add the 6:00 p.m. to midnight slot that includes various talk shows, live performances, and audience participation events (live from the rooftop and / or offsite). Thus, after a period of eight weeks, RoofTropixx Media will broadcast daily audio and video content from 6 a.m. to midnight.

On the first day of the live programming, Monday, August 23, Diaspora Affairs Ambassador Jocelyn Fletcher will be interviewed about the work done by her office during her tenure.

RoofTropixx Media will also facilitate the donation of forty five (45) tablets to the directors of five (5) schools in the Castries and Gros Islet basins. Representatives from the Ministry of Education will be in attendance and local media will be invited to cover the presentation. This will mark the start of many other presentations of this type.
