The youngest presenter of a former pirate radio made his debut during a live broadcast.
Bosses at Radio Caroline have hired sixteen-year-old presenter Josh Holmes-Bright after hearing his broadcasts on Caroline Community Radio, an independent station in the Maldon district.
The presenter made his debut on a live broadcast of historic former pirate radio station Ross Revenge over the weekend.
Peter Moore, Station Manager of Radio Caroline, said: “We are very impressed with Josh’s presentation style and personality, not to mention his broad musical taste and knowledge, which makes him an ideal candidate for Radio Caroline.

“His early broadcasts on Ross Revenge received a fantastic response from listeners around the world.
“It’s important to nurture young talent and like many DJs who started their careers on Radio Caroline over the years, I think Josh has a bright future in broadcasting.”
The Chelmsford student who grew up listening to the station will now present the Caroline Countdown show on Sunday nights.
He said: “Joining Radio Caroline is very exciting because it’s such a historic station with such a great heritage.
“The support I’ve received from listeners has been overwhelming and I’ve had a very warm welcome from the team at Caroline. This opportunity means the world to me.”
