Just a week after their frustrating draw with Cyprus, Northern Ireland have another chance as Nikos Kostenoglou’s side arrive in Belfast for their fourth and final Nations League game of the summer.
Both teams have been drawn alongside Kosovo and Greece in Group C2, with all four teams hoping the competition will boost their chances of reaching Germany 2024.
The top 12 Nations League teams that have not booked their place at the next European Championships through the qualifying groups will advance to the play-offs, with three places available for the competition.
Northern Ireland have not been able to make the most of this advantage in the past due to their traditionally poor record in this tournament since its inception and their goalless draw in Cyprus was emblematic of this.
Ian Baraclough will be determined to make sure they do better now that they are back at home.

Our prediction: Northern Ireland – Cyprus
The last three meetings between these two sides – dating back to 2002 – have ended in goalless draws, which doesn’t mean we’re in for a goal fest on Sunday.
Northern Ireland’s dismal record in the Nations League has meant they haven’t been able to make the most of the qualifying opportunities they have presented in the past, but Baraclough is hoping to change that. .
A win against Cyprus in their last international match of the summer would be a step in the right direction and certainly a real morale boost.
