Mary Sue (Lykins) Hacker, 83 years old Sunman – WRBI Radio


Mary Sue Hacker, 83 years old from Sunman, passed away on Sunday January 2, 2022. She was born January 19, 1938, daughter of the late James and Laura (Hicks) Lykins in Perry County, Kentucky.

After graduating from high school, Mary took college courses and then began her professional career. She worked for almost 30 years as secretary / treasurer for Sunman Dearborn Schools. She will meet and marry Marvin Hacker on September 28, 1957.

Marie has always had the vocation to serve the Lord and at the age of 42 she obtained her pastoral diploma. She began to pastor in various churches, spending several years at the Sunman Pentecostal Church. She had also given 15 years to the Sunman Life Squad and the EMT. At home, Mary enjoyed crocheting, reading, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her sons Jeffrey (Gayle) Hacker of Sunman and Marvin (Teresa) Hacker of Pierceville, daughter Wendy (Don) Fronk of Sunman, brother James Lykins, Arnold (Carol) Lykins and Wiley (Delora) Lykins, and his sister Barbara. Holston, as well as many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Marvin in November 2021 and her brother JC Lykins.

Visitations will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Pipe Creek Baptist Church in Penntown, Indiana. The funeral will be at 11 a.m., also at the church. Memorials can be donated to the X Fragil Foundation. Online condolences can be placed on
