Live: Radio 1 Big Weekend – Harry Styles ends Day 3 with a crowd-pleasing set

People flocked to War Memorial Park for day three of Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2022. Coventry went wild for Calvin Harris in a fitting finale to Saturday’s first full day.

The Scottish DJ and producer was at the desk for an assault set. As he finished, a huge fireworks display lit up the night sky above War Memorial Park.

Sunday saw another packed day with George Ezra, Mabel and Lorde taking to the main stage before Harry Styles closed out the weekend with a set packed with audience-pleasing hits old and new. Elsewhere on the Future Sounds stage, Foals headlined after performances by trending artists including Wet Leg, Rina Sawayama and Griff.

The Big Weekend kicked off on Friday with Danny Howard, Disclosure and Pete Tong helping get the party started on day one. But things really kicked things up a notch on Saturday with platinum-selling artists Ed Sheeran and Calvin Harris on the main stage.

There was a lot going on elsewhere with Fontaines DC and Sigrid performing on Radio 1 Future Sounds Stage. There was also an appearance by Pa Salieu from Coventry.

And don’t forget the Radio One Dance Stage and the BBC Music Introducing Stage. Apart from the music, there was plenty to keep fans busy and around 40 food and drink stalls to refuel.

One of the highlights of Saturday for the Coventrians was when Sky Blues’ Callum O’Hare joined Future Sounds Stage’s Tom Grennan.
