Anannyah, 28, had complained of serious health issues following her gender reassignment surgery earlier last year and even accused the doctor of medical negligence during the operation.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George has ordered an investigation into Anannyah’s death.

“A transgender organization had also filed a complaint about this. An expert committee will be formed to study the problems associated with sex reassignment surgery, ”she said.

The state health minister has asked the director of the health service (DHS) to look into the matter as well. The national transgender association had also sent a complaint about this.
