On the Day of Accountants on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the community and said it plays a vital role in India’s progress.

“Greetings to all chartered accountants on CA Day. This community plays a vital role in India’s progress. I call on all CAs to stay focused on excellence so that Indian companies become one of the best in the world, ”Prime Minister Modi said in a tweet.

This day is celebrated to mark the founding day of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), a statutory body established in 1949 by an Act of Parliament.

It is the only licensing and regulatory body for the financial audit and accountancy profession in India and it will celebrate the 73rd Chartered Accountants Day this year.

In his “Mann Ki Baat” radio speech on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi mentioned that Chartered Accountants Day is celebrated on July 1 and reminded them of a gift he requested from them. “A few years ago, I asked the country’s accountants for a gift from world-class Indian audit firms. Today, I want to remind them of that. Chartered accountants can play a very important and positive role in making the economy transparent. I extend my best wishes to all Chartered Accountants and their families, ”he said.
