The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reached an agreement to launch online media platforms that will help broadcast party activities to the general public.
APC Newsonline Publisher/Editor Dr. Tom Ohikere told LEADERSHIP on Friday that the APC Newsonline Group has received the mandate from the party’s interim committee to launch the platform.
He described it as an additional voice to complement the efforts of the party’s social media handful and the Buhari-led administration.
Ohikere said APC Online has two platforms: which is an online platform for publishing journals on APC issues. The second is a media studio where they would broadcast on APC issues.
“The APC daily news will be broadcast twice a day and will participate in the APC discussion programs.
“Overall, APC’s online news has become a rift between the government and the people. From our independent investigation, there are strong indications that the APC-led administration is far from the Nigerians and if government is about the people, it must be committed to the people through information.
“The electorate voted APC because of the rich manifesto that the party generated from 2015 to 2019, after the elections the government offered policy direction. Now, the political orientation of APC has led to so many achievements, but these achievements are not well communicated to Nigerians.
And there must be a good and proper communication analysis of government projects.
He said the government owes the people an explanation of its achievements so that the people can see that the government is doing well for them, adding that many people now live in unnecessary fear and anxiety.
“Government news outlets are doing their best, but there is still a long way to go to bridge the gap between the government and the people,” he said.
